Accordion books have become a constant in my artmaking practice. They serve as visual journals where I can document thoughts, quotes, things I observe, photographs I study, and memories. I picked up my first accordion book in the fall of 2014 and have kept my practice most consistent over the years. I prefer using the 3.5 x 5.5 inch Moleskin Japanese Album, pocket size with a black, hard cover. Inside of the accordion book is sixty pages that fold out to reveal one entire image. I work only in graphite, pen, ink, and white acrylic. I prefer using Sakura Micron pens, sizes .005-.08. Since 2014, I have completed eleven journals and am busy working on my twelfth book.
